Mconnect launches VoIP services

September 12, 2005

A company with which I’m unfamiliar, called Mconnect, Inc., today announced its launching of a new VoIP service. Mconnect VoIP, according to the Florida-based company, offers a full-feature package that includes “low-cost, unlimited calling” in the United States and Canada for residential, small office/home office, small business and commercial customers.

Mconnect is also offering “a unique opportunity for select resellers” to participate in the growing field of VoIP and the flexible options the technology offers; in this case, including private label branding or reselling of the Mconnect service.

Sherman G. Miller, Mconnect’s president and CEO, asserted in a company statement, “With the Mconnect VoIP Reseller Program, resellers will start earning a monthly residual income from every residential or business account generated.”

Mconnect is offering its VoIP service only after extensive technical testing and market research. Mconnect, Inc. VoIP uses a networking design that features a redundant, fiber optic architecture that minimizes use of the public Internet. This National VoIP Backbone Network design provides “the most robust VoIP transport between the caller and the receiving part,” according to the company.

Basically, it uses a private network to create “crystal-clear voice communication.”

Perhaps the reason for the unfamiliarity of Mconnect, Inc. lies in that it is a new addition to Multicom, Inc’s family of companies. Mconnect carries with it Multicom’s 23 years’ of experience as a full-line stocking distributor for end-to-end integration of communication solutions; this includes high-speed Internet connectivity for the cable television (CATV), satellite and traffic signal industries. These products are used to acquire, process and distribute audio, video, television, voice, data, energy and traffic-control signals over coax, fiber optics and copper cable.
