Another National Broadband Plan - Based on Fiber!
Very interesting. Not a large IX at all and not many big names, but the BIX is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the plan. Maybe each state in the US needs its own local IX and that group should be responsible for the state broadband plan? Then it would just be a matter of interconnecting those state level IX's with dark fiber and a system would be born. Full Story

Allied Fiber's National Broadband Plan Comments
Although this is overly Internet related, it is so due to the overwhelming popularity of the Internet and its seemingly synonomus relationship with the term and concept of broadband. Too much is made of the Internet and not enough of physical access to it for many to realize that the root issues are in the ducts and dark fiber. Full Story

The Australian National Broadband Plan
The Australian government has decided that the country's best interests are served by a National Broadband Plan. This shows that at least some people believe that it is a good idea to have a plan before you throw money on the street. Full Story
