About Me

Kim Devlin-Allen
Texas Instruments

Kim Devlin-Allen is the director of product management for Texas Instruments' (TI) CPE VOP business. She has focused on the communications industry for most of her career, holding a variety of leadership positions including managing business development for the VoIP CPE product group, as well as product management roles for Voice over DSL, consumer gateways, telecom linecard, and analog modem products. Kim sees TI as a perfect fit for her career. Given her passion to help create "the next coolest gadget", she spends her time working closely with engineers to help customers solve the design challenges of tomorrow's ever changing voice ecosystem.

As for her must-have technology, Kim says she couldn't live without her TiVo and Wii Fit. When she is not figuring out how to get YouTube to play on her iPhone, you can find Kim watching her husband coach the Collin College Lady Cougars basketball team or cheering on her kids at their soccer games. She admittedly spends too much time on Facebook and not enough time at her YMCA boot camp exercise class. Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

To Kim, the world of voice technology is a dichotomy: enormous pressure to keep up with the fast paced consumer technology trends while at the same time dealing within the bounds of the methodical and deliberate deployments that are typical for enterprise and service provider markets. As a key market driver in the voice space since its inception, TI enables OEMs to develop a broad portfolio of user-friendly IP phone and gateway products with the highest voice quality using TI's field-proven software and silicon solutions. In her "IP Communications Design" blog, Kim addresses all things voice, including hot trends in voice, current challenges for OEMs and semiconductor manufacturers, design issues, VoIP in SMBs and the enterprise, and the emergence of video and multimedia and the future of voice technology. Kim encourages you to join her discussion or suggest additional content topics.
