I'm headed out to ITEXPO East, taking place next week from January 31 through February 3, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, in Miami, Florida. One of the the items of my must-see list is StartupCamp5 Comm Edition, collocated with ITEXPO East. I'm pretty pumped to see this, especially since at StartupCamp4, Internet / Ethernet legend Bob Metcalfe gave a phenomenal keynote, which was very well received. You can see his keynote here:

During the keynote Bob had some kind words to say about Apple's Steve Jobs, before Steve Jobs passed. It was obvious from Bob's emotions that he knew his friend Steve had limited time left. StartupCamp5 is produced by Embrase Business Consulting, in partnership with TMC, a leading global media company.

In any case, the fifth edition of StartupCamp Comms is a fast-paced, “ready, set, pitch“ event that gives early-stage entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their communications innovations to an audience of industry leaders, media and investors. A panel of experts, including PhoneTag founder Jamie Siminoff and Cbeyond co-founder Brooks Robinson, along with the live audience will actively provide feedback, and help choose a winner for the night.

Sir Terence Matthews will be the keynoter this year. He has founded or funded over 80 companies in the communications field, including Mitel and Newbridge Networks. The four early-stage companies selected include Townhall 140, CallTrunk Vernoa, and LawLoop.com.
