I am sitting here at the Connecticut DMV and while standing in line I was thrilled to see an employee with a smartphone and printer approach me and give me a "reservation #" so I could then wait at the next area. I am not sure if the wait has decreased but at least I am sitting and working.

I must say though I am never comfortable coming to the DMV. The signage is terrible - sure it has improved over the years but I ended up in the wrong line for a while.
