New service offerings will be the lifeblood of service provider business as consumers continue to demand better and richer content on a variety of screens. Those service providers who cannot deliver will find customer churn increasing. To avoid this problem, Alcatel-Lucent has developed a set of solutions.

These Multimedia Integration Services have been developed to help service providers to introduce a wide array of new service offerings, while also helping them to deepen their connections with subscribers by making it easier to access content wherever they are, and on any screen they prefer.

With Alcatel-Lucent's multimedia strategy, service providers can enjoy seamless connections between the various multimedia deliver systems available. A comprehensive strategy will focus on the delivery of a wide array of services to any location and will support these solutions. Such an approach helps to reduce time, complexity and cost normally associated with creating services for various screens.

Last month, Alcatel-Lucent introduced the Multi-Screen Video Solution to tie together existing networks; the Multi-Screen Foundation to help service providers consolidate media operations to cerate an open foundation for a broad set of targeted multimedia solutions; and the Velocix Digital Media Delivery Platform which consists of a series of appliances service providers can use to support their own dedicated advanced digital media delivery capabilities.

Alcatel-Lucent also offers a multimedia consultancy and integration services team that leverages its extensive experience in IPTV, mobile networks and video applications developments. With the innovative multimedia strategy offered by Alcatel-Lucent, the company can foster mutually beneficial relationships between service providers, content providers and consumers.

Kenneth Frank, president of Alcatel-Lucent's solutions and marketing activities, noted that the company's approach will help service providers to leverage existing assets in creative ways to introduce an entirely new set of services and associated revenue.

"We are creating new opportunities for everyone in the digital media value chain by providing a foundation on which new multimedia services and content can be offered to consumers quickly and easily, based on market demand," added Frank.
