The Move to LTE Helps Companies Meet their Wireless Demands

The recent widespread adoption of wireless and mobile technologies has created a strong demand for networks that can provide high bandwidth connectivity. New advances like mobile video conferencing and chatting have only increased the need for operators to build out networks that are capable of handling today's requirements.
In an effort to try and meet the insatiable demand of businesses and consumers, telecommunication companies have begun replacing their legacy networks with next generation networks that use Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. This transition has allowed some service providers to help end users meet their growing data needs without skipping a beat.
To show off the potential of LTE technology in the most demanding of circumstances, Alcatel-Lucent and the Texas Energy Network (TEN) recently announced that they will hold a live demonstration in New Mexico later this month. TEN is currently working to become the first communications company to deploy LTE technology to benefit oil and gas companies.
Alcatel-Lucent will pitch in by providing all the wireless technology for the network using its LTE on Wheels truck. Attendees will be able to see how truly capable the network is when it is connected to oil site sensors and video monitors that send back live images of a pipeline. With the help of Alcatel, TEN is planning on building an LTE-powered national wireless broadband network that will be able to handle the needs of remote critical infrastructure companies that view security, visibility and productivity as absolute must-haves.
To compete in this economy, companies in all industries need to have access to wireless networks that allow them to meet their data requirements. The gradual transition toward LTE can help make this happen.
