No Wireless Competition

Do you think because there are 4 cellular companies that there is competition in that sector? The big 2 have the lion's share of the subscribers (more than 80%) and the handsets. Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular are reporting net losses in subscriber numbers. So is there competition in the wireless space? The FCC has a 250-page report that dings wireless industry for having no competition. Read the Gordon Cook - Erik Cecil exchange about it at Erik's blog.

Wow this is an interesting opinion from the FCC. Why do two big companies not count as being in competition? There really is no reason to leave one of the big two.
