Do You Have Any Marketing Firms or Banks as Clients?

June 27, 2017

It was a rough day in Europe with ransonware hitting banks, airlines, utilities and other businesses. Many businesses closed early in Europe. Some businesses in the US with parents in Europe were also infected.

WPP is one of the largest advertising and marketing firms in the world.

Telecom Tidbits (#2449)

March 21, 2017

Telecom is still broken. Ordering a 1GB Internet port in a Lit building has turned from a 2 week turn up to a 100-day pain in the ass.

In cable news, you get a site survey done supposedly before quoting. You get the quote; give it to the customer who says Yes. You get paperwork; customer signs paperwork.

Another UCaaS Acquisition

May 31, 2016

Last week I reported some M&A here. The M&A Train keeps running.

Broadsoft has bought another company. No more internal innovation (still no Slack or Skype integration either!), just inorganic moves - Transera, Lenoid and PBXL.

So Much M&A to Keep Up With

October 15, 2015

A big one for me is that Accenture acquired Cloud Sherpas. Sherpas was one of the largest Google integrators.

Selling Storage in a Free For All Market

June 25, 2014

I say consumer storage market because for small business with less than 15 employees, consumer apps are used. Earlier this week, Microsoft offered 1TB of storage on OneDrive to Office365 customers. (Thx Pete Davis for the heads-up.)

Today, at I/O, Google brings out the big guns -- unlimited storage for $10 per month and Office editing.

Telesphere Goes Reality TV in Booth

March 17, 2014

A few posts this month from trade shows where I just wanted to point out some unusual marketing, like TelePacific having pop-a-shot basketball games in their booth. Swoosh!

Telesphere and BroadSoft are unveiling a massive 8-foot-tall, 3,200 pound aquarium developed by the creative team of Acrylic Tank Manufacturing from Animal Planet's hit show, "Tanked." Representatives of Telesphere tooke part in filming an episode of "Tanked" that will air on the Animal Planet Network in April. So telecom hits reality TV.
