AT&T saw a direct benefit of $15 per U-Verse subscriber with the DirecTV content contracts.

WAN as a Service seems to be popping up as the next synonym for dynamic bandwidth or SDN (software defined network). It is the name for SD-WAN or the replacement for MPLS.

On the pre-med school path in college, The Dip is Organic Chemistry. You have to pass it in order to even think about succeeding in med school.

I think in telecom The Dip is cloud services.

What Do You Do When Gigabit is $70?

There has been a flurry of announcements about Gigabit broadband around the country - in Detroit, San Antonio, and so many major cities by the Duopoly.

So what does a channel partner do when Gigabit is just $70?

You can try to sell it, but who wants to even do the paperwork for a $70 circuit?

Usually there is a triple-play bundle (even to businesses) for no more than $300.

Spam Soap Going to J2 (with 7 Others)

Back in the ISPCON days, Spam Soap was a regular exhibitor. Spam Soap became Nuvotera, known as an email security services company and cloud services aggregator for MSPs. J2 Global via its Excel Micro business unit has acquired Nuvotera. This was just one of 8 acquisitions in one month for J2 Global.

It looks like Excel Micro will be taking over the FuseMail division of J2 as well.
