I didn’t cook this weekend until Sunday. And deciding what was the recipe of the week was a bit difficult as a result. I made Osso Buco with roasted potatoes, cabbage and cheesy rolls. Each was delicious. The osso buco was done in what I call restaurant style. Braised with lots of vegetables and herbs, which were later strained from the sauce. The sauce is then thickened and the meat is reheated and served with a simple but very flavorful gravy. For the first time in making osso buco, I substituted an Irish stout beer for the usual red wine. It made an amazing sauce. The cheesy rolls were simply layered bread dough with parmesan and sharp cheeses. I got the idea from a roll served at a BBQ joint called Bone Daddy’s. They were excellent by themselves or for sopping up the osso buco sauce. However, my focus for the weekend was cabbage. I don’t eat much cabbage so I wanted to make a version that smelled and tasted great. Check out the recipe of the week which is German Cabbage (okay a bit of liberty taken since I am not German but I am married to a woman of German Russian descent). The cabbage is flavored with bacon, caraway seeds, dill, apple juice and vinegar. If you or family doesn’t like cabbage, you have got to try this version. German Cabbage the recipe of the week. Enjoy!

As a reminder to our VARs and as reassurance to our customers, I want to make mention of Broadvox’s adherence to rules/regulations associated with Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI). CPNI is the information collected by Broadvox or other service providers about a customer’s phone calls or billing information. This includes the time, date, duration and destination number of every call, subscription services, and any other information associated with providing customer support or to bill the customer. Broadvox and our program partners have a responsibility to protect such information and to not use that information to spam existing customers or solicit new ones.

Adhering to CPNI rules is important as the FCC has imposed fines from $10,000 to $100,000 for each violation. As the amount information we collect increases with new virtual products such as hosted IP PBXs or Unified Communications as a Service, we need to be more aware of the responsibility we have to protect confidential and proprietary information. Please take a moment to review the CPNI policy we provide to our VARs and customers. Even if you are not a member of our partner program, whichever service provider you sell has a variant of this policy. Be aware, be compliant and be safe.
