When did "Tele" Get Removed from Telecommunications?

September 24, 2013

Last week while working with my ANPI marketing team, I asked them to consider what Apple had identified as key features during the announcement of the new iPhones. They identified cheaper version with multiple colors, improved camera for better pictures, new operating system, fingerprint recognition for improve security, wireless file transfer, longer battery life and faster processor to play games and improve video features. Please note what was not mentioned during the event; using the device as a phone. It is not a discussion point because the device is no longer primarily used as a phone.

Unified Communications - Reinvigorating Your Engine for Growth

September 17, 2013

Unified Communications – Reinvigorating Your Engine for Growth:

For several years, Independents have faced a number of challenges that have created material barriers to growth. Factors such as wireless substitution, a challenging economic climate, and intercarrier compensation/USF reform have conspired to constrain the ability for the independent community to maintain top and bottom line revenues much less grow them. Yet, against the backdrop of such challenges, independents have a clear path to reinvigorate their growth prospects through the deployment of cloud-based Hosted Unified Communications (UC) Services.

Five Essentials to Selling Hosted Unified Communications

September 12, 2013

Today, I discussed the ANPI five essential keys to successfully sell hosted Unified Communications (UC) with a number of Cloud Partner attendees. While these are my five, you may have a different five or the desire to add or replace one or more. How we approach selling is very individualistic and it is always challenging to develop a list that satisfies everyone. However, the following five items use both past experiences and a changing landscape for sales.

Shout Out to Medium Sized Businesses

September 9, 2013

I and most people are guilty of ignoring mid-size or medium-sized businesses. Sure we use the phrase small-to-medium sized businesses, SMBs and, in Europe SMEs. However, the discussion usually revolves around companies that have fewer than 100 employees or greater than 1000 or enterprises. Seldom does anyone specifically write about the “M” in “SMB”. Granted depending upon how the group is segmented, it represents the widest range of companies with the greatest diversity of needs.

Hearing and Meeting the Woz

September 3, 2013

Last week to close out IT Expo, ANPI sponsored the keynote speaker, Steve Wozniak. To establish a festive mood for the man known as the “Woz”, ANPI handed out hundreds of sunglasses and beach balls. It was duly noted that it was the first time an audience was hitting beach balls into the air as a keynote speaker came onto the stage.

Steve’s speech was an enjoyable recap of the birth and growth of Apple Computers.
