Blogger Criticizes McCain On His Media Consolidation Legislative Record in U.S. Senate
Regardless of your political beliefs, you might want to check out my colleague Dana Blankenhorn's sharp criticism of presumptive U.S. Republican Presidential candidate Sen. John McCain's Senate record on media consolidation issues.
Dana uses specifics to weave a construct of McCain not only as an ardent advocate of media ownership consolidation, but facilitated via his Senate perch, a key influencer of it.
This track record of McCain's doesn't sit well with strong advocates of media diversity. Dana is most certainly one of those.
With a lot of passion and maybe a word of gutter humor, Dana then makes the point that more reportage on McCain's track record on these matters would be more useful to the civic dialogue this political season then The New York Times' reportage on McCain's relations with some of the various industry lobbyists he may have befriended over the last 20 years or so.
