Rockers Unite To Promote Net Neutrality
Net neutrality advocates are gaining some powerful new allies-182 contemporary music acts and 40 labels. They've united to form a group called Rock the Net, whose aim is to keep music free of being prioritized by broadband Internet access providers. to keep music free of broadband provider prioritization.
Participating artists include R.E.M., Kronos Quartet, Sarah McLachlan, The Wrens, OK Go, Death Cab for Cutie and the Barenaked Ladies.
You should not be surprised to learn that “Rock the Net: Musicians for Network Neutrality” has a formal petition up on its website. Last time I checked, 113 people have signed the petition. Hmm, more bands than signers?
