Alligators and Crab Cakes

Alligators and Crab Cakes Wow! What a weekend. The grandkids didn't come by but that was okay. More important to me and my wife was the plumbers finally fixed our water heater. Two weeks have passed since they put in the new one and determined what was wrong. It felt so good.

I had planned one recipe Grilled Romaine Hearts and Caesar Dressing for the weekend but on Saturday, the crab cakes I made came out so well, I had to share them with you. The salad is the second recipe for this weekend. Point is both meals were too good to ignore. The crab cakes were light and, well, crabby. I served then with a homemade tartar sauce and, please sit down, fresh cut French fries. The grilled romaine and Caesar dressing was a perfect blend of saltiness and garlic and accompanied gilled porterhouse steaks. Hey, this is Texas. Try them both Virginia Crab Cakes and Caesar Salad with Grilled Romaine Hearts. Enjoy!

At top of mind, this weekend is the economy. What will it bring to IP communications? Promoting SIP Trunking is easy. What business doesn't want to save 30%-70% on their communications cost? Every installation of Broadvox SIP Trunking saves in that range. However, the best way to gain the advantages of SIP Trunking is to install an IP PBX. This is where the difficulty comes in. Many of our VARs are saying that potential customers hesitate to make the investment in an IP PBX due to the unknown state of the economy. Though understandable, it tends to be short sighted. We have all heard "It's hard to drain a swamp when you are up to your a** in alligators". What we need to do as vendors is let the customer know we will keep the alligators at bay.

Every business should be making the transition from TDM/POTS to IP Communications. VoIP is not enough. Only SIP offers the necessary level of QoS and application support to position a business for the future. We have to present ROIs and TCOs that demonstrate to the client that the transition will save them money in the near term as well as the long term.

SIP Trunking is IP communications for business.
