Top 50 Thank You

Every Monday is a fun day as I recount what I made over the weekend. I entered the weekend thinking it would be a chicken salad, which I may present on another occasion. The reason for chicken salad was to introduce an excellent use for dried onion flakes and lemon zest. I made the salad and will have it for lunch today but decided there were other good choices made this weekend. The other possibility was pan-seared shrimp and scallops served over a tomato cream sauce and topped with puff pastry. This dish was the result of a conversation with a co-worker wanting a sauce other than a beurre blanc to go with seafood. In the tomato sauce, I simmered thinly slice onions, red bell pepper and mushrooms. In addition to being a hearty dish, it was tasty but too complicated. I made a shrimp stock to strengthen the connection to the seafood and we had three major components requiring three different kinds of preparation.  Therefore, I passed on presenting that dish. However, the recipe of the weekend turned out to be two; Biscuits and a Faux Hollandaise Sauce. Arguably, the biscuit recipe is not original. I found multiple copies of it on Internet cooking sites and I couldn't think of anything original to do with it. So, enjoy a great classic Biscuit recipe. Now, the Faux Hollandaise Sauce is original. I have made the real thing a few times and always wanted a lighter version. This is very easy to make, complements a poached egg well and is easier on the waistline. Please enjoy Biscuits and Faux Hollandaise Sauce.

Top 50 Channel Programs

Virgo Publishing recently sent us an email stating that Broadvox placed in the PHONE+ 2009 Top 50 Channel Programs list as voted by members of the indirect channel. One might think that as head of channel sales, I would expect to receive the congratulatory comments. That would be very wrong. This is a very interesting award in that it requires the entire company to achieve it as well as an active group of channel partners. A successful channel program needs all of the following:

·         Channel Sales Managers

·         Sales Engineering Support

·         Provisioning (order placement, number fulfillment)

·         SIP Engineering (trunk-set, trouble shooting, remote support)

·         Customer Service

·         Billing (Accounting)

·         Commission Payment (accounting and provisioning)

·         Partner Portal (IT)

·         Marketing  (website, collateral, product management, etc.)

·         Partners/Members (recommendations, direct sales, onsite support, etc.)

In other words, all of us participate in making a channel program successful.

So, "Thank you very much for all of your efforts! May we find ourselves on the same list again next year!"
