The Legend of Telemarketing

I arrived at IT EXPO Monday morning with a very busy schedule. I was on three panels on Monday along with a video interview. On Tuesday, I represented Broadvox on three additional panels, one solo presentation, press interview, new product interview, and best of show interview. The work was necessary because Broadvox had a number of announcements to make. GO!VBX was being re-launched with a fixed price point of $10 per seat/extension. We had become a member of the Mitel Partner program and would be completing certification soon. We were also announcing net interoperability test completion with Samsung. And we had just completed a new IP Man episode with Ingate as the solution used to defeat the villainess, Echo.  I was exhausted by the start of the evening.

Dinner was schedule to be with Nadji Tehrani, Chairman and Founder of TMC. I expected the dinner to pleasant but it was much more. He was very engaging and the four Broadvox guests were having wonderful time. While I had known of his efforts in forming TMC and its magazine properties, it was intriguing to hear him speak of his early days, his invention/creation of the term "telemaketing" and his grand children. Yes, it was very different dinner than usual during a technology show.

IT EXPO appears to be the largest of the IP related shows. The session were numerous, the keynotes well attended and the show floor quite busy. It was hard to pick a show winner but there certainly was the usual premise versus hosted PBX debates in several sessions. One moderator referred to me as having a premise versus hosted position and I responded with "No way". Broadvox supports premise AND hosted solutions. We are redoubling our marketing efforts for both products. We believe in choice and customization. It is part of our company culture and heritage.

I have another show to attend on Friday in New Orleans so I will not be blogging then. I will be back on Monday with more thoughts and another original recipe.
