With the latest announcement from Time Warner Cable comes a great deal of nervousness from the 3rd party broadband providers like Vonage. When cable giants like Time Warner Cable, Comcast and COX put their best foot forward your can be certain it will have a tremendous impact on 3rd party providers. The simple fact that these larger providers can deploy to millions of households with little effort should concern even the DSL offering from various Telcos. VoCable undermines the value in VoDSL whereby there is no phone line needed at all for VoIP over Cable. This will have an impact on DSL and POTs sales in general. Cable ISP providers offering Voice Services will shake the very foundation of telecommuncations as we know it. 2004-2006 will be exciting to say the least.
