Gretta Gabrielyan, CEO of XLine Telecom notes how her company's recent decision to go with Speedflow worked out.
XLine Telecom was incorporated in 2008. Their main sphere of activity can be described as "VoIP traffic transit." They needed help with increasing their traffic volume, Gabrielyan said, and in that hope turned to Speedflow products.
"At the beginning of 2010, due to our business receiving a boost ,a new software platform was required which would meet our needs," Gabrielyan said. "We researched all of the products for VoIP business on the market. High efficiency and the possibility of further enhancement were the key points in our choice of softswitch Mediacore."

Day by day, she said, while they were interacting with Speedflow staff, "we were feeling more assured that we made the right decision. Softswitch Mediacore was introduced to us during an on-line presentation where we could appreciate the comprehensive approach to problems demonstrated by the developers."

Freedom IQ blogger Nick Gowdy posted some interesting thoughts on managed services for hosting VoIP.

If you're a rapidly-expanding small business in today's technology-heavy world, Gowdy says, "you've no doubt been faced with countless growing pains as your existing IT is stretched beyond their abilities."

We're with him there - that is probably the number one complaint. What with new versions of software released constantly and hardware becoming obsolete after even just a few months, Gowdy says, "it would seem like nothing is built to scale with your business. Or, even more unlikely, get better after you buy it."
He sees this as an opportunity for managed services, since the scalability and constantly-updated service would appeal to small businesses in such an IT pickle.

"Unlike the PBX of the past, a hosted VoIP phone system isn't as much an investment in a fixed hardware solution as it is an ongoing partnership with a reliable service provider," Gowdy notes, adding "just a few of the ways this relationship helps" your business.

From Mississauga, Ontario comes the news that Phybridge, a provider of IP telephony infrastructure, has announced that its UniPhyer "is compliant with IP telephony from Avaya."
The UniPhyer is described by Phybridge officials as enabling businesses to deploy IP telephony "with no network or business disruptions." They say the application is proven and validated by Avaya Labs "to interoperate with the Avaya Communications Server 1000 and the Avaya Business Communications Manager 50, designed for the SMB market."
Phybridge is a member of the Avaya DevConnect program, an initiative to develop, market and sell third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology.
The UniPhyer provides power over Ethernet over a single cable, company officials say, adding that this allows businesses "to save money, eliminate risks and provide flexibility while they ready themselves to reap the benefits" of IP telephony.

Recent reports indicated that the Indian telecom equipment segment maintained its growth momentum, racking up a growth of 18.6 percent in the financial year 2009-10.
That result is only marginally lower than the 20 percent growth in the previous year, according to Voice&Data100 survey. Overall telecom equipment revenue stood at $28.8 billion for the fiscal year.
The segment is largely dominated by telecom equipment providers targeting telecom operators, as well as mobile handset makers like Nokia (News - Alert), which derive the bulk of sales from this segment. The telecom segment will continue to see robust growth in the current fiscal year as well, according to survey officials.
The Voice&Data100 annual survey is conducted by specialty publishing house CyberMedia. It looks at telecom equipment "based on the revenue of telecom vendors in the enterprise equipment, carrier equipment and phone segments," according to survey officials.
