Spirent Intros VoIP Security Testing

More news from Spirent today:

Spirent Communications Introduces First VoIP Security Test Features on Award-Winning Platform

Earlier I reported that Carrius will be using Spirent's telephony test system for its gateway product (see that blog entry here: Carrius Picks Spirent and Continuous Computing for Gateway Improvements).

Now Spirent announces H.235 VoIP gateway message encryption test capability is available for its Abacus 5000 IP Telephony Migration Test System.

The release reveals something of Spirent's product development strategy in the area of security:

"The company plans to introduce a range of IP telephony security-specific test capabilities designed to target security challenges related not only to gateway signaling, but also to the media stream (Secure Real Time Protocol), the transport layer (Transport Layer Security), Encryption (IPSec) and protocol robustness testing."
