About Me

In 2005 Andy Abramson dubbed me the VoIP Princess. So I took the ball and ran with it. I've been in technology in one way or another for about 30 years. In the 1990s I was a copywriter and marketing consultant for tech companies. The dot-com bust forced me to find honest work so I became a journalist and began writing for the Santa Clara Weekly on community issues, events, people and history. In addition to local news and feature stories, I write a lifestyles column called No Guarantees for the Weekly and a monthly small business technology column for Bay Area Business Woman. My technology feature stories have appeared in the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal and Voxilla.com, and my poetry on several now-defunct literary websites. My other love is music, and I currently I sing with the St. Ann Choir in Palo Alto, a group dedicated to Gregorian Chant and Renaissance polyphony. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband, son and our attack cat, Cheddar.
