Take A Minute To Make ICE
MSNBC reports today that Madison, Connecticut acting police chief Robert Stimpson is on a crusade. He's encouraging everyone to take a minute to make ICE, or "In Case of Emergency." (Story at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8744626/)
People brought into hospitals injured, incoherentor unconscious are challenging to health care professionals in that there is no one present to offer a medical history, or even a name and address in some cases. But many people have cell phones with them. If you're like me, you have about 100 numbers programmed into your cell phone. It would be impossible for hospital personnel to guess which is the "right" contact: your significant other, parent or other family member who should be the first to be notified.
So take a moment...take out your cell phone right now and create a new contact called "ICE" and program in the pertinent phone number.
