Pandora on iPhone Goes 2.0

One of the best iPhone applications has to be Pandora, the customizable Internet-based radio station. Today, it goes 2.0 and adds a host of new features and functions.

You can tap album art to see a song progress bar – so you have an idea how much longer you have to enjoy y the current selection. When the bar comes up, you are presented with a list icon on the left which allows you to instantly create a new station from the artist or song playing. There is also a prominent envelope icon which allows you to email a radio station to a friend. Previously, you were limited to emailing only bookmarked songs.

Rotating the iPhone allows you to quickly scroll to past songs which were played but in this view you aren’t able to rate the current song or skip forward. You can pause however. Another new feature is the ability to see artist bios and the rear of an album cover. Quick question – how many people reading this even own (or have seen) an album

made of vinyl?  🙂

You can now also make new stations based on genre. For example if you enter “dance” you are presented with Club/Dance, Techno, Dance Pop and four other types of “dance” genre stations.

Another neat addition is the playing of song samples for your bookmarked songs. This is handy if you have bookmarked a number of songs and were hoping to purchase one or more of them later. Now you can listen to a piece of the song before you buy. Very handy.

In short this upgrade makes Pandora an infinitely more flexible and user-friendly music player and the new version is a must have for all iPhone and iPod Touch users.

My cell phone can also be FM radio as well. It uses the ear peace as the antenna, but you only have access to local stations and close to your house and not AM station either. So this got to be good.
