I spent some time with the Taqua and Genband folks a few weeks ago before I could tell anyone Taqua was being spun out as a separate entity.
Now the embargo is lifted and the company will be going full speed ahead.
Founded in 1998, Taqua developed the industry’s first fully integrated next-generation Class 5 switch – the Taqua 7000 Switching System. The T7000 can be used in Enhanced VoIP, Intelligent Gateway, Class 4/5 Transition, Triple Play and/or Cable Telephony applications.
Taqua was sold to Tekelec years ago and more recently was sold to Genband who just today spun Taqua back out as a separate company. The management of Taqua have a clear vision and based on the conversation I had with them they feel they will be immediately taking share away from their competition.
Taqua has some of the best and brightest and it will be most interesting to see if they take as much share as they predict.
