In an in-person interview with Mike Psenka, President and CEO of Moovila, we explored how the company is addressing a fundamental flaw in project management through AI-driven technology, rooted in hard math and logic rather than guesswork and hope.
Psenka draws a stark contrast between how most businesses manage tasks and how they should be thinking about the complexity of project execution. “You wouldn’t debug a software program with sticky notes—yet that’s how many teams manage projects,” he said. “There’s a paradox in project management where even if everyone completes their tasks 90% of the time, the chances of finishing a project on time can fall to as low as 1.5% due to dependency chains.”
Moovila’s technology is built to solve that problem. With a background in discrete math engines and expert systems, the platform applies advanced heuristics, machine learning, and large language models—but in a white-box, fully interpretable way. “We treat project execution like code, with dependencies, logic, and structure,” said Psenka. “It’s a debugger for project management.”
Rather than reacting to project failures, Moovila identifies them early. The system continuously monitors project portfolios for risks—detecting when projects are sliding weeks or months off track, often before human intuition catches it. “You can’t manage complex projects the same way you manage a help desk,” Psenka added. “The failure rate of dependent tasks magnifies risk. We help reduce leakage and overruns by seeing what others miss.”
With MSPs as a key market, Moovila’s solution becomes more valuable as firms scale. “The bigger the MSP, the bigger the challenge,” he explained. Moovila’s intelligent project management platform is especially impactful for service providers with 10 to 15 or more employees, offering visibility and predictability into service delivery workflows.
Soon, the company will also launch Project Hub, a centralized knowledge base of templates and best practices shared across customers and industries. The goal is to create a repository of high-confidence starting points that increase velocity and quality across recurring project types.
For MSPs and other professional services firms, Moovila aims to instill trust in project outcomes by eliminating uncertainty through data-driven insight. The company doesn’t just track timelines; it quantifies risk, surfaces delays, and provides early warning signs so teams can course correct before reputations—and revenues—take a hit.
