Masergy, a leading provider of Managed SD-WAN, Cloud Communications, and Managed Security solutions, announced today that Rebecca “Becky” Carr will serve as Masergy’s CMO, heading the company’s global marketing organization. She will be responsible for driving growth, brand equity, and digital strategies to ensure Masergy remains the industry’s customer experience leader.
We are very impressed with her background – she was CMO at CoStar Group which focuses on real estate, CenturyLink, and VP of Global Marketing at Verizon.
What stands out most to us is her CMO role at Foxwoods Resort and Casino – it’s our home state casino – the largest in the world and one of the big attractions to Connecticut and contributor to I-95 traffic. 🙂
If she can market against Vegas, she can likely do anything. 😉
She was most recently at Avaya as head of Global Marketing.
Moving to Masergy means the ability to sell more UCaaS, SD-WAN and cybersecurity – all fast-growing markets. A big move from a company making a slow transition from CPE to aaS solutions.
One other big difference is channel. There is a bigger focus on the channel at Masergy than Avaya. In a recent exclusive interview with Masergy CEO James Parker, he said, “75% of the company’s bookings come from partners and we will continue to accelerate our investments in the global channel program.”
He continued, “We are aggressively hiring and adding key engineering, implementation and support staff to focus on internal growth.”
We look forward to seeing how the company does in the future with Becky as chief marketing officer.
