In a recent in-person interview with Randy Bayne, CEO of URNET, we discussed how the company is transforming the SD-WAN and edge infrastructure landscape through a partner-first, AI-enabled, subscription-based model designed for flexibility and rapid global scale.
URNET, which stands for “Your Network,” positions itself as an umbrella ecosystem for business—delivering private cloud, SD-WAN, data center, UCaaS, security, and AI as an integrated stack. With 75 employees, a completed Series A, and a $50M+ Series B in motion, the company is expanding fast, backed by deep technology and global partnerships.
At the heart of URNET’s platform is its proprietary SD-WAN, developed by co-founder Charles Kung. Unlike traditional SD-WAN solutions, URNET’s hub architecture provides intelligent network routing, automatic failover—including to satellite (Starlink, Iridium)—and seamless orchestration of communications, data, and IoT. The decentralized AI model enables real-time processing closer to the network edge, improving latency and delivering workload-specific AI insights.
“If they forget about us every day, that’s a good thing. It means it’s just working.”
Randy Bayne, CEO of URNET
The company has developed its own private AI language model focused on vertical specialization. Whether it’s energy, healthcare, or retail, URNET tailors its AI for each industry, avoiding the generalized models of hyperscalers. The model remains private for now, but its application is already driving value across global deployments.
URNET’s solution is particularly attractive to small and mid-sized businesses and regional telcos. Its simplified pricing model often includes hardware at no charge, with software licensed on a per-user subscription basis. Partners mark up and manage pricing, while URNET powers the backend—including a GPU-equipped firewall, onboard threat intelligence, and camera integrations that turn legacy IP cameras into real-time AI security devices.
Franchise operations are a standout use case. URNET offers bundled, plug-and-play infrastructure for voice, data, IoT, payment processing, Wi-Fi, and more—giving franchisors real-time visibility and control across their networks while reducing friction for franchisees.
Residential and retail offerings are on the roadmap, and URNET is gaining traction in energy markets and expanding globally through telecom and MSP partnerships. The company is a principal member of MEF and adheres to cybersecurity frameworks like CIS and NIST. With certifications including SASE, SOC 2, and pending FedRAMP, URNET is designed for resilience.
As URNET prepares for greater visibility in the channel, Bayne made one thing clear: the company isn’t trying to be a door-knocker. Instead, it’s building “your network”—white-labeled and handed over to the partner. “If they forget about us every day, that’s a good thing,” Bayne said. “It means it’s just working.”
