Fusion Connect Appoints John Nee as Chief Marketing Officer to Accelerate Growth and Brand Awareness

Fusion Connect, a leading provider of cloud-based communications and managed services, announced today that it has appointed John Nee as Chief Marketing Officer. In this new role, Nee will be responsible for leading Fusion Connect’s overall marketing strategy, including product marketing, demand generation, and channel partner engagement, at a time when the company is seeing increased momentum in the mid-market and enterprise segments.

“John’s unique blend of strategic marketing vision, deep communications industry experience and executional excellence immediately stood out, while I was making this strategic executive appointment,” said Bill Wignall, CEO of Fusion Connect. “His extensive background in B2B marketing, a proven track record of driving growth across various channels, and his cross-functional collaboration will be invaluable to Fusion, our channel partners and our customers.”

With more than two decades of marketing leadership experience, John Nee brings a track record of helping B2B tech companies scale operations, strengthen brand positioning, and align marketing with sales to drive revenue. His prior roles include senior marketing leadership positions at Segra and Integra Telecom, where he helped elevate brand awareness and lead integrated campaigns across multiple go-to-market channels.

“I am delighted to join Fusion Connect at such an exciting time,” Nee said. “Our full-suite product solution—all from one vendor—delivered with our superior US-based customer service, is what businesses crave today for their critical communication needs. I look forward to working with the talented team here at Fusion and with our channel partners to drive customer awareness, build strong partner loyalty, and further accelerate the company’s growth.”

Recently we detailed Fusion’s recent loan as a sign of confidence for the UCaaS market – as well as the company’s unique channel-friendly approach.

Fusion Connect has positioned itself as a strategic partner for companies looking to modernize their communications infrastructure. With offerings that include UCaaS, CCaaS, managed security, SD-WAN, Microsoft Teams integrations, and POTS replacement services, the company enables mid-market and enterprise businesses—especially those with multi-location operations—to enhance internal and external interactions, improve agility, and reduce operational complexity.

The appointment of a seasoned marketing leader like Nee reflects Fusion Connect’s continued investment in growth and go-to-market effectiveness. As the cloud communications landscape becomes more competitive, the company is doubling down on its differentiators: comprehensive, all-in-one solutions, seamless customer experience, and a 100% U.S.-based support model.

Fusion Connect’s partner-first approach has helped establish the brand as a preferred communications provider for MSPs, VARs, and technology consultants serving the business community. The addition of Nee is expected to further amplify the company’s channel marketing capabilities and strengthen its ability to support and grow its partner ecosystem.

Fusion Connect’s end-to-end service delivery is designed to help customers simplify procurement and support, reduce the number of vendors in their technology stack, and improve outcomes across voice, data, collaboration, and network infrastructure.

With this latest leadership move, Fusion Connect signals its intent to accelerate brand awareness and business development as demand for reliable, scalable communications continues to rise.

What is interesting about this particular hire is Nee’s background as an investor as well as an operator – as well as extensive experience at Act 1 Partners, the parent of Act 1 Events, a corporate experiential firm helping businesses grow through brand-immersive experiences and events. This really does make Nee stand out in a crowded field of CMOs and it will be interesting to watch what an abundance of cash and experience does for Fusion’s growth prospects.
