Westcon Teams with RingCentral to Distribute UCaaS to the Channel

If you haven’t been paying attention you may have noticed Westcon-Comstor has been focusing a great deal on communications as of late. Westcon traditionally distributed a variety of vendor products while Comstor focused on Cisco. The combined company does it all.

This past April, the company grew its access to Mitel UCaaS solutions in EMEA and APAC.

“Mitel and Westcon-Comstor have built a fruitful partnership over the past year, and we are excited to be expanding it today with the addition of our UCaaS portfolio,” said Rami Houbby, Vice President International UCaaS Sales, Mitel. “Mitel is uniquely positioned to offer customers a choice of ways to move communications to the cloud, depending on their business needs. With Westcon-Comstor on board, sales partners will be able to offer their customers simple, feature-rich, off-the-shelf cloud communications solutions at predictable monthly expense. In addition, no investment is required in infrastructure or resources from the sales partners side.”

Later in April, the company started to offer Ribbon’s Network Edge Orchestration solution to European resellers.

“Expanding the relationship with Ribbon enables our partners to provide end customers with a high-quality voice and data experience that truly harnesses the power of technology,” said Gillian Doyle, Director Accelerate Vendors, Westcon EMEA. “Our reseller partners will benefit from adding this suite to their range of solutions.”

Earlier this month, BlackBerry announced a new distribution agreement in the United States with SYNNEX Corporation and its Westcon-Comstor division, which focuses on security, collaboration, networking, and data center solutions. SYNNEX now distributes the BlackBerry Enterprise Mobility Suite, a comprehensive suite of software and services that helps enterprises manage and control access to Internet of Things (IoT) devices as well as secure communications for all messaging and file types.

This week, the company announced it is working with RingCentral to provide UCaaS to enterprises via partners.

With Westcon acting as a master agent for RingCentral initially in the UK and Ireland, it is anticipated that Westcon will draw on its established EMEA footprint to extend RingCentral’s reach across multiple markets in Europe.

“Demand for enterprise-grade cloud communications solutions grows daily, and we are continually investing in market-leading technologies that help our partners to build out cloud-based aspects of their portfolio,” said Rene Klein, senior vice president, Westcon Europe.

“That is why we’ve made the strategic decision to make RingCentral our lead partner in our launch of a new master agency model for Europe. We’re excited to be pioneering this new approach as a significant addition to our existing channel partner model.”

With proven expertise in unified communications as a service (UCaaS), Westcon will enable speedy partner onboarding, enabling them to secure fast ROI on their investment.

Antony Byford, managing director, Westcon UK&I said, “RingCentral is an industry-leading vendor at the sweet spot of the UCaaS opportunity. It represents highly compelling proposition for partners wanting to build their cloud-based business.”

“RingCentral’s portfolio is attractive to new resellers across many industries, with a market potential that extends beyond traditional UC players. We believe Westcon has the reach, relationships, and drive to help accelerate RingCentral’s business growth here in the UK and Ireland.”

“Master agents like Westcon are instrumental in arming their partners with the best solutions on the market so they can help their customers make the best possible choice for their business,” said Zane Long (News – Alert), SVP of global channel sales, RingCentral. “We’re thrilled to be their lead partner as we work together to enable their channel community with the leading solution in UCaaS.”

It’s an exciting time for Westcon -the UCaaS business is projected to grow rapidly for many years to come and there is enough competition in the market that vendors can use the services of a distributor. It’s great to see them spending so much time in mobility and UCaaS.

This is great for resellers, MSPs, etc. as they can get a plethora of solutions from one distribution partner.
