What does 55 pounds mean in context? Using our Instron, we found that it’s approximately the force required to break three pencils.

Basically, as I have been saying all along, bendgate is a tremendous amount of BS. There may be some defective phones out there but the ones I tested were not bending, despite extreme pressure.

OK, now we resolved that… Next issue please.

Hat Tip: Gizmodo via Kerry Garrison & Nik Poljak.

Consumer Reports used a three-point flexural test to determine how much force different large devices could take before bending.
