In what appears to be a match made in heaven, NEC is partnering with Infovista on SD-WAN and SDN. As we’ve told you in the past, NEC<\/a> is differentiating itself in the UC and UCaaS space by adding applications which integrate with its core communications services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Ram Menghani, VP of Product Management said to us<\/a> in an in-person interview, \u201cCustomers have invested a lot of money in their business process such as CRM and our UNIVERGE Integration Platform is a very powerful tool with connectors that are APIs that function like an app store.\u201d He continued, \u201cThis allows a quick drag-and-drop business workflow without needing a developer or integrator.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We described their approach to “Corporate America intersecting with WeWork.” The system works with biometrics, and handles collaboration, books meetings, office parking, lockers and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other words – NEC is really aiming to provide an office-solution, with software integration as opposed to plain vanilla VoIP or UC\/UCaaS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, Infovista\u2019s Ipanema SD-WAN with new cloud-native management and control of applications tightly combines session-based routing and dynamic path selection of the underlay network with an overlay of deep application visibility and dynamic control of the quality of experience for business-critical applications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The companies have a partnership now – NEC is enhancing its Smart Enterprise Suite by offering Infovista Ipanema SD-WAN with NEC\u2019s Software-Defined Network-based Unified Communication (UC-SDN) solution. The new offering allows customers to reduce costs related to WAN connectivity and enable prioritization of specific unified communication (UC) sessions across both LAN and WAN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEC\u2019s on-premise UC customers will have access to an SD-WAN and SDN package that is suitable to support NEC\u2019s UNIVERGE call flows. The Ipanema SD-WAN solution also provides application intelligence to a vast array of application suites including biometrics, video flows and more. As the customer transitions through their hybrid WAN\/SD-WAN transformation, this solution will allow customers to replace expensive hardware, maintain quality of experience for voice and mission-critical business applications, and give them the ability to prioritize specific applications on finite bandwidth. In addition, this partnership will create value for both the NEC and Infovista partner ecosystems, providing a new revenue stream and opportunities for channel partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We see this as a positive for both companies as it allows each to do what it does best in a synergistic manner which serves customers better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
