Exciting news for customers as Verizon adds Co-Management to its SD-WAN managed services portfolio – in addition to Full-management and Monitor and Notify service levels. Customers have the ability to change a select set of policies through self-service portals and APIs. In addition, business intent-based, vendor-agnostic policy management facilitates uniform definition, translation and one-click deployment of policies across multiple sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The self-service portal enables customers to define intents based on users, applications, sites and their WAN links, and then apply the intents to different policy objects based on business needs. Giving customers self-control of application policies enables them to be more agile and responsive to their specific business needs, and ultimately, therefore, will enhance the overall user experience. Any policies and configurations that are not supported in the Portal or via APIs are still managed by Verizon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBy adding Co-Management to our managed services portfolio, we are giving enterprise customers the ability to define and implement their SD-WAN policies across their location based on a rules-based engine, themselves,\u201d said Vickie Lonker, Vice President of Product Management at Verizon. \u201cWe listen to customer feedback, understand industry trends and continue to develop innovative SD-WAN solutions that can meet the needs of any business customer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-Management customers will have the ability to make changes to their policies via the Verizon Enterprise Center portal or the\u00a0Verizon Digital Connect<\/a>\u00a0portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVerizon is on to something here. Enterprise IT departments want control over SD-WAN policies but they need help with the rest of the platform,\u201d said Brian Washburn,\u00a0Practice Leader, Network Transformation & Cloud, Ovum. \u201cCo-Management lets customers control network configuration while Verizon oversight provides a safety net.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This release is the first in a series of Co-Management product rollouts to support the Verizon Virtual Network Services portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news comes at an interesting time… Cisco has just said they will spend more time focusing on the SMB space<\/a>, Menlo Security is going to get into<\/a> SD-WAN and so is fellow telco, Frontier<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The market is heating up and Verizon’s array of choices means companies can rest assured they will have the flexibility to scale their external SD-WAN management up and down, as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
