In the days when we had to drag a diamond over a spinning plastic disc to produce quality tunes. And even back then, we knew about the Yamaha legacy.<\/p>\n<p>They have actually been in the U.S. since 1960 and are in virtually all facets of audio. They started building pianos in 1900 and are still a leader in the space. The brand always stood for premium sound and we have been a fan of many of their products over the years.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tmcnet.com\/blog\/rich-tehrani\/uploads\/yamaha%20biz%20units.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tmcnet.com\/blog\/rich-tehrani\/assets_c\/2018\/10\/yamaha biz units-thumb-500x273-16585.png\" alt=\"yamaha biz units.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"273\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We are digressing a bit but not too much. Some time back, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advancedaudioconferencing.com\/topics\/advancedaudioconferencing\/articles\/438581-revolabs-becomes-yamaha-unified-communications.htm\">bought Revolabs<\/a>. In a way, this is the merging of the company&#8217;s Professional Audio Equipment group started in 1969 with the latest in UC endpoints.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ma4bajbFyOY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Randall explained quite eloquently that often when installing videoconferencing solutions, IT focuses on the video\u00a0solution but doesn&#8217;t take into account the fact you can have a call without video\u00a0but <strong>not without audio<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to tell me the company has always been about audio capture and feedback and they continue\u00a0to bring audio innovation to the business space. He said, &#8220;From the backpack to the boardroom to the lecture hall to operating theatres in giant spaces.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In case you missed it, our colleague Paula Bernier recently broke the news about the company&#8217;s new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.advancedaudioconferencing.com\/topics\/advancedaudioconferencing\/articles\/439465-yamaha-unified-communications-introduces-portable-speakerphone.htm\">YVC-200 Portable Speakerphone<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One differentiator the Japanese leader espouses is a common UI and UE across all devices and platforms with a goal of providing the &#8220;best audio out there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tmcnet.com\/blog\/rich-tehrani\/uploads\/yamaha-software-compatability.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tmcnet.com\/blog\/rich-tehrani\/assets_c\/2018\/10\/yamaha-software-compatability-thumb-500x271-16587.png\" alt=\"yamaha-software-compatability.png\" width=\"500\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They will continue to be software-agnostic allowing customers to easily switch conferencing vendors if they choose to. He did mention however they will consider making vendor-specific devices to work with large providers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0Y5Y2zylW0M\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We went on to discuss the CS-700 Video Soundbar which has been described as a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tmcnet.com\/usubmit\/2018\/02\/21\/8704506.htm\">huddle room powerhouse<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The device has support for USB, bluetooth, NFC and remote management and we can expect a dialer, SIP and DisplayLink support in the future.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_wxueXpzuGY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>For larger conference rooms there is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tmcnet.com\/usubmit\/2018\/06\/05\/8766719.htm\">YAI-1<\/a>\u00a0allowing out-of-the-box installation with wireless microphones and Yamaha audio processing\u00a0such as DSPs; all integrated into a single solution. This includes PoE speakers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tmcnet.com\/blog\/rich-tehrani\/uploads\/yamaha%20innovation%20center.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.tmcnet.com\/blog\/rich-tehrani\/assets_c\/2018\/10\/yamaha innovation center-thumb-500x333-16589.jpg\" alt=\"yamaha innovation center.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The company has a new engineering center in Hamamatsu\u00a0which they liken to the Bell Labs of audio meaning we can continue to expect leading-edge audio quality from the company.
