SugarCRM recently <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tmcnet.com\/channels\/open-source-crm\/open-source-crm-articles\/sugarcrm-announces-open-source-contest.htm\"><font size=\"2\">announced<\/font><\/a><font size=\"2\"> the 100<sup>th<\/sup> extension to its Sugar Suite open source CRM platform as well as a contest for developers with prizes totaling $2,500 in cash and prizes. <\/p>\n<p>Over 2,000 developers have joined SugarForge.org in the last 14 months. This is quite an accomplishment.<\/p>\n<p>In any open source project there is always a handful of developers that do most of the work. Still, the more developers you can attract to your platform the better. For $2,500 this is a great way to build the community and give back at the same time.<\/p>\n<p><\/font><font size=\"2\">I always think back to the conversation I had in August at <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tmcnet.com\/blog\/rich-tehrani\/voip\/keynote-with-mark-spencer-at-voip-sizzles.html\"><font size=\"2\">VoIP Sizzles<\/font><\/a><font size=\"2\"> in <place w:st=\"on\"><city w:st=\"on\">Dallas<\/city><\/place> where Mark <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.tmcnet.com\/blog\/rich-tehrani\/voip\/sugarcrm-vs-vtiger.html\"><font size=\"2\">mentioned<\/font><\/a><font size=\"2\"> how powerful the combination of Asterisk and SugarCRM can be once there is solid integration between the two platforms. I am looking forward to catching up with Mark when he <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tmcnet.com\/voip\/conference\/ca05\/keynotes.aspx#spencer\"><font size=\"2\">speaks<\/font><\/a><font size=\"2\"> at <\/font><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tmcnet.com\/voip\/conference\/\"><font size=\"2\">ITEXPO<\/font><\/a><font size=\"2\"> in two weeks.<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the more amazing aspects of open source software is the open source community.
