Hi, this idea seems great!!! I currently have a VOIP phone with broadvoice, but I also use skype. One of the problems I have with my phone is with certain wirless networks like in hotels or starbucks that display a start up page requesting my info. I hope this phone has the capability to handle these internet spots to widen the coverage of the skype phoone as opposed to my zyxel phone.

Jack, I also thought like you did, but it seems the quality of the voice and range are specifically enhanced in these VOIP phones, rather than using your pda or mobile phone for these purpuses....

Unless there is a new product or something

These phones all looked kinda similar to me so I went for the cheapest one I could find in the uk at i-voip.co.uk.

The Edgecore wifi skype phone i bought has helped me out quite a bit as the call quality on my PDA using Skype was shocking.

These things never quite live up to all the hype but I can see myslef using this to make my Skype calls for ages
