I enjoyed riding a friends Segway but it was readily apparent that they are completely useless for overall city travel, they don't take you that far, and they cost a small fortune. The Segway will no doubt decrease walking and biking, which would be detrimental given the importance of regular physical activity. I live in Guelph, Ontario and here in Ontario they are illegal both on the sidewalk and the roadway; so just where would I legally ride my sidewalk SUV if I had one?
