There was a lot of buzz surrounding a Google Blog post stating that the Google's click-to-call program was being cancelled. Apparently, it isn't true, but rather an unauthorized user logged onto Google Blog and made up the post.

Here's an update from Google Blog:

A bug in Blogger enabled an unauthorized user to make a fake post on the Google Blog last night, claiming that we've discontinued our AdWords click-to-call test. The bug was fixed quickly and the post removed. As for the click-to-call test, it is progressing on schedule, and we're pleased with the results thus far.

A bug? In Google's hosted blogging website (blogger.com/blogspot.com) that is used by millions of bloggers and websites? Are you kidding me? The post doesn't detail how severe this "bug" is, so how vulnerable are the millions of other blogspot.com and blogger.com blogs hosted by Google? I'm sure the Google engineers will be up all Sunday night trying to fix this "bug".

If you are a VoIP fan as obviously I am, then we can at least we can take solace in the fact that Google Blog states "As for the click-to-call test, it is progressing on schedule, and we're pleased with the results thus far."
