Vonage Outage
Pal Dan Conner & big Vonage aficionado, who runs the Vonage Forums tipped me off to a major Vonage outage. Boy, Skype outages recently and now this. Hope this is just a minor outage. VoIP doesn't need a black eye these days. I'm looking into this outage right now, but in the meantime, go check out Dan's Vonage Forums posting/thread for more info.Of course, this isn't the first Vonage outage. I experienced an outage first hand back when I was a Vonage customer.

January 18, 2008 12:33 PMTurn off Call forwarding and erase your network availability number. The calls will stop, but may still show up on your incoming call record. I had the same problem today and that's how I fixed it.

Our Vonage service has gone completely haywire as of last night. It started with one incoming call that rang and when answered, no one was on the other end. After calling from one of our cell phones to see what the problem was, our phone started ringing non-stop (this time the incoming call ID was from the cell we just tried to call with.) Everytime we picked it up, nothing was on the line. We would hang up and the whole thing would start all over again. On top of that, the cell number we use for call forwarding from our land line started ringing as well. Both phones were possessed for the remainder of the evening, non-stop ringing. 24 hours later, the phone is still wonky. We can call out, no one can call in. We spent a good amount of time with so called customer service. No one can tell us what the issue is, or when it will be resolved. Anyone out there have any answers (besides the obvious switching to another provider?)
