I started my professional career as an Actuary. My mother thought that an Actuary was someone that worked with birds. I spent about a dozen years in the financial side of the Actuarial field and then, with the advent of the IBM PC, transitioned gradually into an IT management role of a large financial institution. As VP of IT for this holding company I set IT Policy and managed its implementation. About the year 2000, seeing a great need for outsourced IT services in the small business space, I left this employment to start a new IT consulting practice focused on small business. Coming from the business side of the equation - my strengths include the business owner's perspective to IT. In addition to my love of technology and its benefit to business, I am a volunteer scuba diver at the Newport Aquarium (Check This Out) and educate visitors about sharks from inside the Shark Tank.
