Hey, It's Like Second Life for Your Cell Phone

Maybe there is something to this Second Life thing after all.

While IBM seems to think this is the next big thing (according to this report, many other companies are going their own way with bits and pieces of the "big idea." (Donny Deutsch may take that one ...)

U-Doo is a new program that lets you build personal ringtones with matching avatar characters. You can download these avatar tones to your mobile phone, email them to yourself and your friends and even publish them to your MySpace page.

The company has posted some pretty funny pre-recorded ringtones as well as some cool DJ scratches on their web site.

U-DOO was created by www.wirefly.com, an online one-stop comparison shopping for cell phones, wireless service plans and wireless accessories, in coordination with Oddcast, a developer and distributor of talking avatar technologies.
