The news as of the first coffee this morning, and the music is Crosby, Stills & Nash's eponymous 1969 album. Such talented musicians, such beautiful harmonies, such strong songwriting, such an idiotically self-destructive band that could've ruled the post-Beatle pop world but decided it'd be more fun to crash and burn after one brilliant record instead:

Interprise Software, a vendor of software products for businesses, has reported "rapid expansion" in its reseller channel as well as "new customers and partnerships." The pace of growth is also forcing the company to increase its office space and expand staff, company officials say.

Morgan Customsoft associates have joined Interprise Solutions, which Interprise officials say will allow for "a greater focus on the development of direct mail applications" within Interprise Suite. Mark Morgan, founder of Morgan Customsoft, a developer of software for the direct mail industry, will become vice president of direct marketing for Interprise.

Previously Morgan was a principal at Collinear Systems.

"With Mark and his team of application designers, we can take efficiency and integration for companies in the retail, e-commerce, phone and other channels and create applications and products for software," says Gary Harrison, president of Interprise Software Solutions.

Interprise Software's flagship product, Interprise Suite, is a customizable Smart Client-based application providing a view of customers through enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, accounting, e-commerce and point-of-sale tools in a single, integrated application.

Resellers use Interprise Suite's product to "develop and sell applications, connect with other resellers and deploy tools to increase business through Interprise's ConnectedBusiness resource site," company officials say.

Interprise's roster of resellers increased 25 percent in the last quarter. Acquired by Taylor Corp. in early 2007, Interprise Software has increased its staff by nearly 300 percent.

CoffeeCompany has decided to use a WiFi menu as an advertising medium, company officials say, "turning the tables" on the WiFi freeloaders and squatters who come in, buy a single coffee, and nurse it for hours while surfing the Web.

The coffee shop chain, with help from communications agency THEY, decided that instead of using a standard name for its network, to use lines like "Order Another Coffee Already," "Mmm... Yummy Muffins Only $1.99," and "Buy Large Latte Get Brownie For Free." When laptop or handheld device users search for a network, they see these lines written out in their WiFi menu.

The ploy started at stores close to universities as part of a back-to-school promo this fall. It proved so popular that it expanded to nearly all stores around the country.

The promo was "fast and simple to execute" with help from technology partners X/OS and Space Cowboys, CoffeeCompany officials say, adding that the name of the network can change without affecting a user's connection - "so nobody gets dumped off the network."

Some customers get confused when they don't see a straightforward "CoffeeCompany" network in their menu, firm officials say, leading them to ask the barista, who then shouts across the room "Order Another Coffee Already," or whatever the line of the hour is.

ExactTarget, which sells on-demand e-mail and one-to-one marketing products, has announced the launch of its fall product release.

Designed to help marketers "optimize their one-to-one marketing programs through a single platform," company officials say, the product has capabilities including the ability to preview e-mails in multiple desktop, Web and mobile e-mail clients prior to sending a message.

Scott Roth, director of product marketing for ExactTarget, said the rising popularity of mobile e-mail devices with unique e-mail clients "is making it difficult for marketers to ensure that e-mail messages reach their subscribers in the way they had intended. The new Inbox Preview functionality helps marketers get the most out of every interaction and help further customer acquisition and retention."

The fall release is the fourth major product release in 2008 for ExactTarget, and the release is now available to current clients that are using the service.

Highlights of the fall product release include Inbox Preview, powered by Pivotal Veracity, as well as SMS and Voice enhancements allowing marketers to initiate SMS or voice messaging campaigns individually from the ExactTarget application, via automated programs or through API calls to the ExactTarget service.

There's also a feature called Smart Capture for Landing Pages, a drag and drop content editor for designing Web pages with intelligent lead capture forms. The data can be routed directly to Salesforce CRM, a subscriber list or another external data source with automated follow-up communications.

The product provides Data Extensions for Salesforce.com, configured ExactTarget integration that gives Salesforce.com marketers a new way to automate communication and lead nurturing efforts, with access to Salesforce.com report, campaign, contact, lead, account and other data.

OmniVue, a vendor of accounting, financial and customer management products, has announced "record sales and customer expansion" for its on-site and on-demand Microsoft Dynamics Accounting and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) products and services.

The company has seen 200 percent customer growth for its hosted products, year-over-year, company officials say, while total company revenue grew 30 percent.

"In today's credit markets, small and mid-sized companies want greater management over their accounting information and sales forecasting systems so they can better control their business," said Jeff Pyden, founder and managing director, OmniVue.

Last year OmniVue introduced the option of Microsoft Dynamics on-demand, a hosted product licensed through a monthly subscription. OmniVue's on-demand product has accounted for 75 percent of its new hosted clients located throughout the United States.

OmniVue claims its hosted products have "a 100 percent retention rate," company officials say, adding that 35 percent of its new customers were already operating Microsoft Dynamics products and chose OmniVue as its provider of choice for professional services or hosting.

Founded in 2003, OmniVue is based in Metro Atlanta. For more information, please visit.

Sage Software has announced the deployment of its new Sage Accpac Extended Enterprise Suite at Surrey-based metal recycler Amix Salvage & Sales. The suite consists of Sage Accpac ERP version 5.5 with integrated SageCRM to support sales, marketing, and customer service management.

With 3 locations and 175 employees, Amix is one of the largest metal recyclers in British Columbia, running recycling centers, commercial scrap yards, and mobile collection operations. More than 40,000 automobiles pass through Amix's processing yards every year, on their way to be stripped, crushed, and shipped to metal-hungry markets in the Far East.

The Sage suite provides the benefits of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM), company officials say.

For over a decade Amix has used Sage Accpac ERP, recently deciding to use the Sage Accpac Extended Enterprise Suite for internal business and external customer management. "We're just starting to make use of SageCRM," says Dungey. "But we already see how it will boost our marketing capabilities, help us analyze customer demographics, and give us a complete view of our customer interactions." Amix's Sage Accpac Extended Enterprise Suite also offers integration with Sage FAS Fixed Assets. "This will give us the ability to accurately track our fixed assets in house, and automatically calculate depreciation," adds Dungey.

With the Sage Accpac Extended Enterprise Suite, Amix Salvage & Sales is moving forward to make every level of the organization more productive. "As we incorporate technology in our business processes, we can see the enormous potential for additional efficiencies," concludes Dungey. "Sage Accpac Extended Enterprise Suite is helping us to get there."
