Let The Chips Brawl Where They May: It's Broadcom vs. Qualcomm- Again

December 23, 2007

Apparently, the phrase "can't we all just get along" is not part of chip-maker Broadcom's Holiday mantra.

Or part of their mantra any other time of year as well.

Chip-makerBroadcom has  filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission accusing rival Qualcomm of patent infringement. Broadcom's beef here is that Qualcomm is importing phones which make use of new chips that are similar to those which had previously banned from import.

Broadcom alleges that these chips also violate the same patent that was previously found to be in violation.

The U.S. International Trade Commission plans to look into this dispute. No hearing date has been scheduled as of yet.
