Shareholder Complaint Seeks To Unmask AT&T-NSA Links
The Wall Street Journal reports that the American Civil Liberties Union is rallying to the side of a group of dissident AT&T shareholders who want the company to disclose whether or not it turned over phone records to the U.S. government.
Organized around a group called As You Sow, the effort revolves around a resolution submitted to be included in AT&T's shareholder proxy that would, if approved, compel AT&T to disclose any policies it has relevant to disclosing customer calling records or related information without a warrant.
Citing security laws, AT&T has refused to say whether it follows those practices- such have been alleged with the National Security Agency.
