The news as of the first coffee this morning, and the music is more of Elton John's 1974 shows in London and New York released in 1976 as Here and There. This was his best band doing his best songs, plus there's a guest appearance by John Lennon, so it's probably the one Elton album you want on your iPod:

Netelligent has launched an interactive promotion designed to showcase the new Cisco Digital Media System, and bring exposure to Netelligent's software applications designed for the Cisco platform.

There's a video dance contest located at www.ucdance.net. The audience can view, submit and vote on the individual dance performances. The Grand Prize is $2,500. The three runners up will receive $500. The contest is open to Netelligent's Customers and Partners and Cisco's Employees, Customers and Partners.

The promotion will run from March 3rd to April 18th, 2008. Tune in to see Rich Tehrani perform a traditional Persian dance, replete with beaded fringe shirt.

Tarrytown, New York-based Datacap, a vendor of flexible capture and forms processing software products, has announced enhancements to its Channel Sales Program and the hiring of Dennis Daugherty as Channel Program Manager.

A VAR-focused organization, Datacap develops software for imaging, enterprise content management and database products. Its Taskmaster's rules-driven architecture enables flexible configurations without "extensive" programming, company officials say.

Daugherty's primary role at Datacap will be to expand its Channel Partner Program by recruiting new product providers and working with existing partners to expand growth.

Salentica Systems, a vendor of client management products for financial services, has announced a hosted FASTRAK version of its flagship product for wealth management firms, Salentica Advisor Desk, based on Version 4 of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Used in Salentica's SAS 70 audited data center, Advisor Desk FASTRAK is described as "an attractive product" for wealth management firms without sufficient IT resources to manage the server environment, according to Bill Rourke, President, Salentica.

Brad Wilson, general manager for Microsoft Dynamics CRM at Microsoft, said the new offering "will provide more choice to customers looking for a CRM product tailored to their needs."

LogicBright CRM has launched version 1.5. The new version is "faster, easier and more customizable than before," according to company officials who describe LogicBright CRM as "an innovative contact manager for small businesses."

It's a Web-based small business lead and contact management software, and now is "30 percent lighter" with more features. "We want to be the easiest to use, but not at the expense of our speed. No one likes to wait on pages loading," correctly stated Steve Schmidt, president of LogicBright CRM.

The 30 percent decrease in average file size puts LogicBright CRM among the lightest Web based CRMs on the market, the LogicBrighters feel. In fact, company officials say, "a LogicBright contact record is almost half the size of the same record in SugarCRM Professional Edition."

One new feature is the ability to arrange data in any layout. Users can drag and drop the data fields into position. Other features include a new user wizard, themes and appearance enhancements and expanded widget options.

Since LogicBright CRM is Software as a Service all existing and new users are upgraded to version 1.5. The new version is being released March 2nd, 2008.

Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Atidan, a vendor of software-development and IT consulting, has announced the availability of the Atidan Collaboration Kit, which works with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007.

The kit has six Web parts designed to ease the user's ability to find and share information, from group calendars to most-visited content within SharePoint sites. In addition, it has a Web part providing Facebook integration. "With these tools," the Atidians say, "users can circumvent a long and arduous discovery and resource-seeking process."

"SharePoint has become the standard if you are building line-of-business application sites, especially if you are talking about ERP, CRM and business-process-oriented kinds of products," said Barry Engel, Atidan's EVP Business Development.

Describing himself as "excited" by the "enthusiasm" of the SharePoint community since the release of Document Explorer Web part in the fall of 2007, Advait Chitalia, Vice President Technology at Atidan India, said since October "we have had over 5,000 downloads of the Document Explorer alone."

The collaboration kit has a consolidated Calendar Web part which synchronizes and provides a unified view of the calendar events of all the sub sites in the portal. There are also Document and Site Explorer, two Web parts which make it easy to navigate through multiple sites, document collections and documents, all with the Explorer interface.

The "MyFacebook" tool lets users see their friends' status updates and notifications from within SharePoint.

The Collaboration Kit is free and currently available for download at http://www.atidan.com/atidan-collaboration-kit.php.
