Interoperability is becoming a central topic at the SIP Trunk-Unified Communications Summit at ITEXPO. The Unified Communications Interoperability Forum and SIP trunking leader BroadSoft will both be speaking, which tells me that Unified Communications is gaining traction significantly and that interoperability is becoming a key issue we must address.
Cloud-based UC is also being recognized as a unique alternative to on-premise service - both have benefits, and the BroadSoft presentation will help delineate the opportunities for both. Cloud-based SIP trunking offers all the know-how for back-end implementation and ongoing updates, maintenance etc. It's not necessary to have a SIP expert on-site with cloud-based service, which can be a tremendous asset especially for growing companies or service providers.
The UCIF and BroadSoft will present on Tuesday, October 5 at an 8:30am session on "Introduction to Unified Communications." This will be an exciting panel where we'll ask participants to give us a two-minute elevator pitch on "What is Unified Comms?" then open up the floor to the audience and our moderator Joel Maloff of Maloff NetResults, where you'll have an opportunity to ask the questions you need to know the answers to in order to implement UC successfully.
Other panelists will include representatives from VOIPSA - who will give a presentation on security and Unified Comms - as well as Dialogic, Intertex Data AB and analyst David Yedwab of Market Strategy and Analytics Partners.
As always, the SIP Trunk-UC Summit is free to all ITEXPO attendees.
