As a professional reader of press releases, I'm always intrigued by the different forms they take. Some tell a real story -- those are the most fun. Some describe the new product in incomprehensible technical jargon -- I'm baffled by those, but I often flag them for extra exposure because they probably make sense to the engineers in our audience.
Most press releases are filled with what I call "puffery" -- marketing hype designed to make the product sound great and to communicate the company's market position. To me these seem like the least effective and the least likely to generate meaningful coverage and marketing benefits. But that's just me.
Anyway, here is a press release that appeared today from Knowlagent, a company that provides a solution that "allows customers to generate exceptional sales growth in the service environment, leveraging current investments in service personnel and technologies, and without disrupting critical service levels":
From what I remember about Knowlagent, they actually provide some pretty interesting software for contact centers. I wish that this press release told me more about what the solution actually does for Wells Fargo, rather than generalizing about the benefits. But as I said, that's just me.

I came across this blog trying to research knowlagent and similar systems. I haven't been able to test Knowlagent yet. They don't allow demos, but they've offered to give me a presentation in the future.
I know one selling feature of Knowlagent is supposed to be it's ability to trigger e-learning based on low call volume.
Hope that helps!
Ryan
P.S. If anyone has any information on how to trigger applications based on call volume and without using Knowlagent please send me an e-mail at
