"Rex the Talking Bottle" Serves Customers at Stone Pharmacy

This is an application of speech technology I hadn't heard of until just now:

Wizzard Software Announces Stone Medical Pharmacy in Chicago As The Latest Retail Outlet for Rex - The Talking Bottle

Stone Pharmacy, a landmark near Wrigley Field in Chicago, will begin carrying the Rex Starter and Refill Kits made by MedivoxRx, a company bought in 2004 by speech technology developer Wizzard Software.

Now that I have elderly parents and (some might contend) am becoming somewhat elderly myself, I can understand the value of Rex the Talking Bottle, as described in this excerpt from the news release:

"Rex-The Talking Bottle is valuable for anyone who has difficulty reading or understanding their medication instructions. By simply pushing a button on the side of the bottle, patients can hear what medication is in the bottle, dosage information or any other message that would be helpful to the patient."
