I have done my best to avoid having using this blog for self-promotion. However, Broadvox won the BEST OF SHOW award for Best Service Provider Solution at the most recent IT Expo. While it may seem like a simple award and of little value, we have worked hard to add a successful retail offering to our product portfolio that could successfully complement our wholesale solutions. Broadvox for years has offered SIP Origination and Termination to other carriers and application service providers. One would think the transition would have been simple to provide a SIP Trunking offering to businesses.  It proved not to be simple at all. We needed to address a number of processes to reflect the new customer base. We adjusted engineering, expanded out interoperability testing, changed our provisioning process communications and developed multiple product packaging to offer customized solution delivery. Finally, there was also the transition from a direct sales force to an indirect sales force leveraging VARs, agents and dealers. Today, all of these changes have resulted in a product we can be proud of, a sales channel that is the best in the IP communications space and a satisfied customer base.

Are we done making changes and evolving our product offering?

As my most recent blogs point out, we will continue to explore new developments and determine whether they are of interest to our target markets. R&D and product management have the primary responsibility for conducting the necessary research and analysis. However, we readily accept input from our sales partners and customer base.  As often said, "Watch this space for future announcements."

IT Expo was very good this year. Broadvox participated in several sessions and launched a new IP Man adventure. As usual we gave away a ton of Metoo monkeys to attendees (get them now because after this year there will be no more ordered). Rich Tehrani and his team continue to provide an excellent showcase for the IP community to demonstrate its wares. If I have one suggestion for the locations, it would be interesting to see if either Dallas or Chicago could host an IT Expo in the future. Florida and California are great locations but the "fly over" region would like to host a fantastic IT Expo as well.

Anyway, sorry for missing yesterday. I'll have a new recipe on Wednesday! Only one problem, there will be way too many choices for recipe of the week by then.
