Hello to Competitor Group and Active.com. Look what Techistan found at CTIA Wireless 2010 in Las Vegas. Greg Wilfahrt and Jay Glickman of MakeItPro share the excitement of the first interactive, family-friendly sports and social networking destination online. Check scores and highlights, nutritional guidance, fitness training, sports, psychology, and recruitment. Makeitpro has aligned itself with many high profile professional athletes such as Steve Nash, Hasheem Thabeet, and Kim Vandenberg.
I definitely made one faux pas in saying this service would be a hit with my guy friends. It sounds more like my guy and girl friends will enjoy MakeItPro as the total resource, marketplace and interactive social network for athletes, fans, coaches and parents -- anywhere on the planet. They cover 175 different sports.
Greg Wilfahrt shares, "We believe that doing well means doing good. We are a very cause-related site and service. Soon, we are releasing our mobile version."
Don't be too surprised if you see them leveraging IP communications in more than a few ways!
Watch Greg and Jay on video. (I haven't figured out how to embed Youtube source code on my TMCnet blog like I have on all my other blogs and media sites. Can anyone help?)
A CTO friend of mine: "Her problem with the TMCnet blog is most likely that the blogging interface (probably through a browser) is stripping off the HTML "object" tag. That is often done for security reasons so that users can not inject code into a blog. She needs to talk to a system's person on that site to find out the settings (which may involve her getting permission) to insert code into her blog."
