Reading Food and SIP

What a busy weekend. My wife and I spent Saturday shopping and running errands. Dinner was a quick helping of fried chicken and waffles with maple syrup. I didn't grow up on the combination but I like it a lot now. Sunday was the busiest day. I prepared salmon with a dry rub to smoke Norwegian style, gravlax, brined slab bacon and maple cured slab bacon in a dry rub. All of these will sit in the refrigerator for the remainder of the week and will be smoked either Friday or Saturday. Done with that, I roasted pork shanks German style, fried potatoes and made a Montreal style brown gravy for dipping the fries and the pork. As a first course, I prepared Shrimp Bisque with Fire Roasted Tomatoes. The latter became the recipe of the week. It was positively delicious and rather simple to make. We had to stop ourselves from filling up on the bisque. The pork shanks are a dish I had in Frankfurt Germany and we enjoy them several times a year. I'll see about a recipe for them the next time I prepare them. However, today please look at the Shrimp Bisque with Fire Roasted Tomatoes. Enjoy!

Reading SIP...

Often I am asked what site or magazines do I read to stay up to date on the industry and what is happening in the world of SIP. Of course, I recommend my blog and the TMCnet sites including the Broadvox IP Communications Community. Additionally, I recommend the following print media, Channel Vision, Telecom Reseller, and Internet Telephony. I read other sources but these are my favorites. As for websites, I like Light Reading, the SIP Center, FierceVoIP, and Broadband Census. Again, I do read many other sites for SIP and related IP communications information, but these sources have consistently added to my knowledge and awareness of the current state of events.

For online marketing information, I suggest eMarketer. I have been a subscriber to this site for nearly ten years. They have lots of great research and ideas for successful digital marketing and media plans.

Check out the about publications and sites. I hope you find them useful.

I will be traveling this week so no blog on Wednesday. I'll see you on Friday.
